Apple Pie Ingredients:

For Crust:
cup all-purpose flour (110 g)
teaspoon granulated sugar (5 g)
1/4 teaspoon salt (1.25 g)
1/2 cup shortening (105 g)
1/4 cup cold water (60 ml)
egg yolk

For Pie filling:
3 apples
1/2 cup granulated sugar (100 g)
1 teaspoon cinnamon (5 ml)
1 tablespoon lemon juice (5 ml)

For Crumble:
1/3 cup butter (115 g)
1/2 cup all-purpose flour (55 g)
1/2 cup brown sugar (115 g)
1/2 cup oatmeal (45 g)
1 pinch cinnamon

Total Time: 1 1/4 hr
Serves: 6-8

First, prepare the crust by mixing together flour, sugar and salt.

Blend in shortening until the mixture resembles coarse pieces.

Add egg yolk and water into the mixture.

Mix thoroughly until dough is smooth and combined.

Roll out the dough to 1/8 inch thick. Add flour to dough if it's too sticky.

Gently place in a pie plate and trim edges to fit. Use fingers to shape a neat edge for the pie shell.

To prepare the apple filling, peel and slice apples thinly.

Pour out lemon juice on apple slices to prevent browning.

Stir in sugar and cinnamon to apples, and then mix well.

Pour apple mixture evenly into pie shell and set aside.

To prepare the crumble, mix all ingredients in a bowl with a fork.

Spread crumble mixture uniformly over pie, slightly pressing down

Sprinkle cinnamon on top of pie.

Bake pie at 350 degrees for 40-50 minutes.
